CHARACTER
INFORMATION
Name: Fang (also known as Nack
in the US and Europe)
Nicknames:
N/A
Race:
Weasel-Wolf
(In many sources, Fang/Nack is just an ordinary
weasel. He was originally a weasel-wolf before his debut game was edited
for release in other nations.)
Gender: Male
Age:
Unknown
(Speculation: Looks to be an older Sonic character
judging by his appearance, size, and of course line of work. 19-22,
perhaps? Just guesses.)
Date of birth: Unknown
Birthplace:
Unknown
Height:
Unknown
(Speculation: A concept sketch of Sonic Triple
Trouble comparing the heights of each character shows that Fang is shorter
than Knuckles, and actually matches Sonic's height. A good estimate
for Fang's height would be anywhere between 98-102 centimeters [3'2"
- 3'4"].)
Weight:
Unknown
(Speculation: Since Fang's height is so close
to Sonic's and since he is most certainly not bulky, it's safe to assume
that Fang's weight is also comparable. Fang is, however, known to not
be nearly as powerful as his adversaries, which would result in a much
less lean physique. This is most aptly displayed by how his body bulges
out towards his waist. So Fang may actually weigh less than Sonic, or
maybe more because of his more intricate appearance and bodily features.
I'm guessing anywhere between 32 kg [70.4 lbs] to 38 kg [83.6 lbs].)
Physical
techniques: N/A
Abilities
and aptitude:
(1). Fang's only gift in the world as far as natural ability goes is
his tail. Fang's tail is extremely durable, very flexible, and very
powerful. It can not only support Fang's weight if he were to stand
on it, but Fang's tail is also very elastic; able to coil down and spring
Fang high up into the air at unreasonably lofty heights.
Hobbies and talents:
(1). Most of Fang's skill lies in his talent and work, and standing
highest in his collection of endowments are his excellent marksmanship
skills. Not only is this wild card of a weasel wolf very trigger happy,
but if you give him a gun or firearm, there is no doubt he'll be able
to accurately shoot a target with it.
(2). Fang is as smart as a whip and is very crafty and devious. Even
though he is known to backstab just about anybody, his underhanded and
cunning nature will probably double cross even one of the most astute
and hard-to-convince individuals.
(3). Experienced, albeit reckless driver.
(4). Excellent treasure hunter.
Weaknesses:
(1). Slow on his feet, which is why he gets around using an aerobike.
(2). Fang can most certainly take some punishment, but he's not known
to dish out the hits because of his lack of strength.
Physical
Appearance:
- Purple fur
- White and long-snouted fluffy muzzle with two pointed tufts on each
side, along with a white belly/chest with a notch at the top
- Black eyes
- Long, slanted ears
- Very long, durable tail that is bent acutely in the middle
- Large and pointed, dark blue nose
- His trademark giant fang is always sticking out from under his upper
lip
Attire:
- Saddle brown work gloves with dark gray iron plates on top that are
bolted in each corner
- Saddle brown belt with a golden-colored buckle
- Saddle brown, high-stocking boots with white trim
- Saddle brown fedora with both sides bent up, accented with a thick
black stripe
Items
& weapons:
- His trademark popgun, which, in Sonic The Fighters shoots
out… corks.
(Speculation: To be a little more realistic,
and perhaps more cooler, the gun looks most similar to a colt .44 magnum,
although, the gun shown is for pure decoration. I am not sure how Fang's
gun really looks, as I am basing my hypothesis on a single Sonic the
Fighters screenshot.)
Vehicle(s):
(1). The Marvelous Queen
Description: The Marvelous Queen is an aerobike, primarily blue
and yellow in color. The bottom end of it is slightly customizable and
it is capable at traveling at very high speeds.
Personality
details: Fang is sly, smooth, snide, and very rude… basically
the scum of the Sonic universe. But his double crossing hide has earned
him a reputation as being loathed by both good (Sonic) and bad (Eggman)
alike. There is only one single, solitary thing Fang pursues in this
life, and that is none other than money. Fang is definitely someone
who believes money brings true happiness and he fights hard to pursue
that goal. But he is a wild card; who knows if he'll turn on ya'. If
it means striking it rich, Fang's itching trigger finger will pull at
that magnum with no second thoughts. Luckily, said trigger finger only
becomes a hazard when he is actually threatened or given bounty to hunt
someone down. He usually does his own work which mostly consists of
looking for valuable treasures to sell for high pay.
Historical biography:
One
day, Fang managed to hear about the fact that Dr. Robotnik managed to
collect all Chaos Emeralds. But thanks to one of his machines malfunctioning,
all of the jewels were thus dispersed back out into the dimensions from
whence they came, ergo rendering them right out in the open for anybody
to get their gritty hands on… such as Fang. Fang didn't care and
probably didn't even know about the infinite power the Chaos Emeralds
can supply. Instead, he knew those jewels would be worth quite a pretty
penny or two. With no time to waste, Fang set out to nab those jewels
and thus strike it rich.
Unfortunately
for him, three other parties were after the Chaos Emeralds as well.
Sonic & Tails tried to get them before Eggman, while Knuckles was
once again tricked by Eggman into thinking Sonic & Tails were after
the emeralds to wreak their own havoc, and of course Eggman was after
them so they could complete his goal to dominate the world. All Fang
wanted was the money they'd get him and this kept him on the right track,
since Fang got to pretty much every emerald before them! But every time
he got close, Sonic & Tails always managed to lay the smackdown
on him and leave with the emeralds themselves. So in the end, Fang left
with empty hands and thus no money.
After
that hectic escapade, Fang began to sink into the woodwork of society,
only showing himself at the second annual Chaos GP and the fighting
tournament Tails started when Eggman mounted the Death Egg 2. After
that, this weasel-wolf seems to have gone his own ways with his work,
because he hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Personal character analysis/commentary (by Nuclear Envoy):
It
was such a shame that Fang was scrapped. He had so much promise and
was so unique in comparison to the other characters. Although, on the
bright side, he is also the most likely to make a return. But if that's
not the case, then that means his replacement was probably Rouge.
Like most
scrapped characters, Fang doesn't have all that much of a fanbase. But
you'll probably find more Fang fans than Big fans, hehe. He's a character
built for people who like bad guys, but practical ones. Fang just wants
money and he's willing to do anything or take anyone in his way out
to get to that cash. I definitely find that admirable and even provocative
as far as Sonic characters go. And what's even worse is, since he is
scrapped, he doesn't have a chance to beef up and mature into today's
Sonic universe. These days, his popgun would be an actual magnum, more
than likely. I mean come on, look at the heat Shadow is packin'.
Overall,
Fang is one of the more original and indepth scrapped characters for
sure. He is the scrapped Sonic character with the most Sonic titles
under his belt and is by far the most likely to return.
